I have recently had a Spirit Solar system installed and I am very pleased with it. The installation team were very competent, informative and polite and the system is performing as promised in their initial estimate. The best thing is that it just looks after itself and one can just sit back and watch the bills come down. Looking at the meters showing the generation of 'free' energy can be quite addictive, even on dull days.
Your staff are all friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They clean up after themselves, are polite and unflappable. David had a pig of a job with my new consumer unit but I never heard any complaint whatsoever and - surprisingly - not once have I heard the slightest "profanity" from any of them. Extraordinary in my experience with tradesmen in general. The solar panels are fantastic - all working well even on days when the sun is barely out.

Our MCS Accreditation number is NIC 1220. In order to claim feed in tariffs your solar system must be installed by an MCS accredited installer.
Why is it such a good idea to get solar electric panels?
9% interest rate. Guaranteed by the UK government.
The government are paying you simply to put panels on your roof and generate electricity. Put the panels on your existing roof and you will get paid a feed in tariff of 41.3p for each unit of energy you generate. You can still use the energy for FREE. So if you are currently paying 10p per kWh for your electricity, the value of each kWh you use from your Solar PV system is 51.3p.
If you don't use the energy you can sell it for 3p per kWh back to the grid. In this case each kWh is worth 44.3p to you.
Overall you can expect around a 9% return on your investment.
That means that if you invested £15000 in solar panels you'd be approximately £1200 better off per year.
If you have money in the bank, you'll be lucky to get 1% on it at the moment.
Guaranteed for 25 years - by the UK Government
Once you sign up to generate your own energy, you lock in to the feed in tariff of 41.3p (index linked) for 25 years. So for the next 25 years - that's until 2035 - you will get paid 41.3p for every kWh you generate.
And it's Tax Free
You pay no tax on the money you earn. It you're a 40% rate tax payer, £1200 earned from solar panels is worth £480 more than the same amount earned from interest on cash deposits.

The approximate costs for our solar systems are £8970 for 8 panels (1.48kWp), £9950 for 10 panels (1.8kWp), and £13960 for 16 panels (2.96 kWp). A 4kWp system will cost around £17190.
These prices assume the use of German SMA inverters, German engineered roof brackets and MCS accredited Yingli panels. If you want a branded panel such as Sharp or BP Solar, add approximately £30 per panel for Sharp and £55 per panel for Romag (add £700 to the 4kWp system price for Sharp and £1200 to the 4kWp system price for Romag).
These prices are illustrative - we can design any size system you want including large systems for commercial installations.
Please note Our supply prices and hence our selling prices do fluctuate in response to exchange rates and supply and demand.
All panels are accredited under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme and are guaranteed by the manufacturer to at least 80% performance after 25 years. Inverters are guaranteed for 5 years (an extended warranty is available on the inverter at extra cost). We give a 5 year workmanship warranty. In addition we guarantee to investigate and rectify any query or complaint about your system in the first 5 years free of charge, with no call out fee.
We use in house installers only. We do not subcontract installations.
